Tips for Travelling

Right now, I'm going to tell you some tips for traveling without tour guides, travel agencies, and limited money. This may help you through your journey. And of course, it was helping me through my experiences for travelling.

****

Main tips of What to bring and to learn:
  • Always search where you wanna go before you travel. and also, search how to get there with train and busses and put those things on your itinerary. (If you have trouble putting those. I can help you.)
  • Download or save the train map to know where you have to go next. I prefer to download and print it because sometimes my battery is needed for the travel and I'm too lazy to bring the power bank for my phone. and paper is much lighter :p
  • Learn some of the words and sentences in their language and how to pronounce it before you go. such as:
    • Can you speak English?
    • Do you know this place?
    • Can you help me?
    • I need to go to tourist information center or police station. (because they will help you, in some countries the police are not helpful and rude though)
    • 1,2,3....etc. It's helpful if you want to buy something.
    • Chicken meat and pork (if you're a Moslem)
    • Excuse me
    • Thank you
    • Here
    • Sorry
    • Please
    • Hello
    • Yes
    • No (I think that's all. For now I've learned Spanish, Italian, french, Japanese, Thai, and mandarin for some of those words.. LOL)
    Portable Weight Scale
  • Don't forget to bring the travel luggage weight scale. It helps you to make sure you're luggage is not overweight or you have to pay more.
  • This purple bag travels the world with me
  • Bring a multi-pocket bag that is also waterproof. I always take my Kipling bag because it's really  helpful, even though the design is already out of date. LOL. It has lots of pockets to put different stuff, it's big enough for my camera, it's weatherproof!
  • Hidden Security Passport Wallet
  • Bring a small hidden security passport wallet that you can hang around your neck and put it inside your clothes. If you're afraid to get robbed. you can put some of your money there, some in your wallet, some in the bag, and some in your luggage. never put your money all in one place.
  • always copy scan and print your passport or another id, if, in case you lost your passport, you still have something.
  • print your hotel address, it's helpful if you take a taxi somewhere, just give them the address because sometimes it's hard to pronounce.
  • Manners around the world
  • Learn their manners. Because every country has different manners.
  • When you change your money to their currency, ask for smaller money too. Because sometimes they won't take your money if it's hard to give the change when you buy something.

Some other tips for before and after you've arrived:
  • If you're a shopper traveler like me, you better put more in your luggage weight in your airplane ticket when you're going back home and can just use the standard luggage weight when you go. because overweight will costs you more money.
  • If you're not a backpacker and also a shopper like me, you should bring, one big suitcase and one smaller suitcase that you can put it inside the big suitcase, one medium backpack, and one travel bag that you put in your empty backpack. If you have more money, you can only bring one suitcase and if you shop more than till your suitcase not fit anymore, you can buy cheap suitcase there and put some not-really-important pieces there.
  • never put your valuables in your suitcase, always put it in your backpack that you can always carry wherever you go.
  • Find your route from the airport to your hotel before you even depart, Don't turn off your GPS, but you can turn on the airplane mode. and when you've arrived you can turn off your airplane mode and your GPS will still work even if there's no wifi around. It's also helpful when you have wifi in your hotel and you want to go somewhere but you don't have any internet. Just turn on your GPS and never close it! Mark your location with stars or with a favorite in your google maps.
  • Use your coins to buy train tickets, bus ticket, mineral water and snacks. Because it's heavy.
  • Never bring the exact budget for your travel. Bring also your country's money. In case you need more for an emergency. and also for when you've arrived back in your country.
  • Always search for the weather information before you go, so you can bring the appropriate clothing for the weather. sometimes you can do laundry there or buy more clothes in a cheap clothing store if you have more money to spare.
  • Fast food in the european country is always cheap. for example, burger in McDonalds is 1 Euro.
  • But convenience store food also cheap. If you have more money to spare, you can try their main delicacies only.  Always try street food, which is even though it's not healthy, lots of street food are AWEESOOMEE!! Lol!
  • always be careful even though you're in a secure places.
